CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

This qualification will enable you to become an early childhood educator, who contributes to planning for and providing educational experiences and care for infants and young children. It covers educators who use organisational policies, procedures and individual children's profiles to plan educational experiences and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play, and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes. This qualification supports the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework and/or the My Time Our Place Framework.

Graduates will gain the minimum qualification to be able to work in the Early Years Industry, such as Long Day Care Services, Preschool, Occasional Care Services, Out Of School Hours Care, In Home Care or as a Family Day Care Educator in their own home.

CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

This qualification covers the role of the early childhood educator who is responsible for designing and implementing the curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved curriculum within the requirements of the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority’s National Quality Framework.

At this level, educators may have a responsibility for supervision of other staff and volunteers. In most states it is the highest qualification required for a career as a Director or Service Manager for an early years' service.

Graduates have the opportunity to work in Long Day Care Services, Preschool, Occasional Care Services, Out Of School Hours Care, and In Home Care or as a Family Day Care Educator in their own home, where they are responsible for providing a program of education and care to young children.
