This qualification will enable you to become an early childhood educator work in long day care centres, out of school aged care, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens. As an early childhood educator, you will support children’s wellbeing, contribute to planning for and providing educational experiences and care for infants &, young children. Educators are supported to use organisational policies, procedures, and individual children’s profiles to plan educational experiences and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play, and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes.

This qualification supports understanding and implementing all aspects of the National Quality Framework, including application of the ‘Early Years Learning’ Framework and/or the ‘My Time Our Place’.

To complete this qualification, learners must complete at least 280 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service.

Graduates will gain the required qualification to work in a regulated early years service in lead roles. This is the minimum qualification required to be a Director or Service Manager in an early years service.

Training can be completed through independent one-on-one training and traineeship learning. Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who: hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood and Care or a CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood and Care.
